Architecture + Design

I’d probably say that ingenuity is the original Deraspe trade.

Design/Build

There’s plenty of “design/build” firms out there…I’ve seen the phrase too often and to be honest, it’s become a bit of a misnomer. There are those contractors who perform some of the tasks during a project then subcontract out the majority of the work. And that model is tried and true to a degree. Schedules are kept and the budget stays on track. To me that model is more “Project Management.” Then there’s us. We start with the design, see it through to finished construction documents then manage the entire permitting process. Once it’s actually time to break ground, whether it’s excavation and concrete, framing and finish, doors/windows and roofing…we do it all. We have a great network of subcontractors when it’s time for plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC of course. But for the most part,

Permitting

The Field Issuance Remodel (FIR) program was designed for Oregon licensed contractors who perform recurring residential alterations, additions for one or two-family dwellings and accessory structures (new and existing). Learn more about working with one senior inspector from the city throughout the life of your project. Certain to streamline the permitting and inspections throughout a project.

Installations

Did I mention I’m certified in permaculture design? I care about a lot of things, but putting my hands in the ground from time to time really is nourishing. Understanding plants, specifically the flora of the area, landscapes, hardscapes (rock walls, pavers, etc.) and how they interact to foster health and well-being is important for so many reasons. We like to offer this service because built-environments go beyond the roofs and walls.

 Develop

I’ve bought and sold, refinanced and flipped a number of properties in my time, mostly here in Portland. It’s a daunting and frustrating process on the best of days; mind-numbingly, impossible on the worst. If you’ve ideas about improving your property’s equity I’d happily sit for a spell to talk it out. I’d never push a client into a project…in fact I’d probably try and talk you out of it if I didn’t think it pencils out in the long-term.

Improving Equity in your property

Covid and the economy has certainly rattled our security these past couple years. And inflation has material costs fluctuated in ways that make projects seem unfeasible. We’re here to help you through the process of home improvement projects. There are a number of manners to make a dream project realized. So whether it’s the unfinished basement, kitchen/bath remodel or perhaps building the home office since we’re working from home that’s got you up at night, reach out and let’s start a dialogue about what’s possible.
